The Certified Medical Technologist (MLT) 7 On & 7 Off (7/7) For Baylor Scott And White Health (BSWH) Performs And Monitors A Variety Of Laboratory Testing And Analysis; And Assumes Responsibility For Problem Resolution, Quality Control, And Routine Equipment Maintenance With Minimal Supervision.
In Addition, The Certified Medical Technologist 7/7 For BSWH Has The Following Responsibilities:
Performs Moderate To Complex Laboratory Analysis To Contribute To The Delivery Of Quality Patient Care.
Performs Laboratory Analyses Within Scheduled Timeframe.
Accurately Records And Clearly Communicates Results.
Recognizes And Takes Appropriate Action On Results That Deviate From Guidelines.
Recognizes And Takes Action On Abnormal (Critical) Results, And Documents Notification Of Appropriate Staff Following Established Policies And Procedures.
Demonstrates Knowledge Of Proper Specimen Collection, Processing And Handling Techniques.
Ensures Laboratory Quality Control Procedures Are Followed And Equipment Functions Properly.
Ensures Highly Accurate Quality Control Records.
Performs Routine Calibration And Preventative Maintenance On Instruments And Equipment, In Accordance With Established Guidelines.
Assists In Maintaining Inventory Levels, Equipment And Instruments.
Helps To Maintain Adequate Stock Of Supplies As Requested.
Performs Routine Calibrations And Preventative Maintenance Accurately As Participation Is Required.
Assists In The Evaluation Of New Techniques, Procedures And Equipment As Required.
Recognizes Equipment Malfunctions And Technical Problems And, Using Scientific Principles, Takes Initial Steps To Resolve These Situations.
Fulfills Continuing Education And/Or Certification Requirements To Maintain Required Qualifications, And Shares Technical Knowledge With New Employees And Students.
Takes Responsibility To Understand And Complete Professional And Technical Requirements And Provides Scott & White With The Necessary Documentation On Such Requirements.
