Job Summary/Purpose: The Patient Safety Program Manager reports to the Director of Patient Safety and Risk Management. Under limited supervision, the Patient Safety Program Manager assists in the development of a culture of safety for the organization. This role utilizes evidence based practice in organizational safety, human factors and high reliability theory to guide MUSC to its goal of zero harm
Minimum Training and Education: Graduation from an accredited graduate program with a healthcare related master's degree required. At least 5 years experience in working in a healthcare organization quality/safety program plus certification as a professional in patient safety or healthcare quality preferred. Computer/internet skills and familiarity with MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.) essential. Experience with LEAN/ Six Sigma required, certification in Six Sigma preferred. Experience with Just Culture required, certification preferred. Experience with Epic EMR preferred.
