Description This position is Mon -Fri from 12:30 - 2100. Perioperative Charge Nurse is Responsible for collaborating with Team Leaders/ PeriOperative Nures Manager/ Director of PeriOperative Services regarding managing, planning, organizing and facilitating the daily activities related to patient flow through the procedural area and throughout the continuum of care using good critical thinking skills. The PeriOperative Charge Nurse will ensure the optimal, effective and efficient flow of patients in a safe manner and provide high quality service for the Perioperative patient. Communicates patient information to provide optimum patient care in the operating room and supporting departments. Is responsible for assuming responsibility for collaboration in the clinical management within the Perioperative department and supporting teams. Manages add-on/ emergency procedures with the collaboration of the Team Leaders and Anesthesia providers. Makes decisions based on knowledge of best practice and adheres to regulations set by regulatory agencies. Works interdependently to achieve optimal patient outcomes. Assures the effectiveness of unit based operational efficiency is framed in Performance Improvement standards, utilizing tools to assess, measure, and change process, enhancing data driven quality improvement activities. Functions in multiple roles throughout the center, as needed. The PeriOperative Charge Nurse serves as a role model by providing leadership which fosters positive attitudes and change as well as supports hospital and departmental policies/procedures, national standards and other regulatory requirements. Is responsible for the delivery of safe, effective, and quality patient-family-centered care in the operating room and other areas of Perioperative services for all patient populations. Must have exceptional communication, operational and customer service skills and physician relationship for a cohesive team approach. Requirements * Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing. Minimum requirement is an Associate Degree in Nursing; Bachelor's degree is preferred.
