Children’s Behavioral Health (CBH) specialize in providing direct services and case management to children, adolescents and adults with behavioral and medical health needs, as well as those supervised by government subsidized programs, in their homes or through community-based resources. The Data Entry/AR Follow-Up Specialist will be responsible for performing work duties essential to the efficient and accurate data entry of non-autistic authorizations and services to third party payers Assignments are varied in nature and are performed under the direct supervision of the Authorization/Data Entry Supervisor.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Job duties will be assigned by the Authorization/Data Entry Supervisor. Among those duties are:
• Verify accuracy of services entered into Avatar. • Accurate, timely recording of service lines. • Maintain detailed records as required. • Reconciliation of OMCM reports with Practitioner Service Summary reports from Avatar to ensure all entries are accurate. • Interact with staff, payors, and agencies to answer questions, obtain information, and resolve issues. • Coordinate and collect necessary information from staff or payers for proper data entry of non-autistic clientele authorizations. • Recognize problem accounts and notify appropriate staff or supervisor to assist in problem resolution. • Participate in the training of new staff members. • Attend and participate in payor meetings/seminars as needed. • Maintain open, positive, cordial, team-oriented lines of communication with Authorization/Data Entry Supervisor and other staff members. • Contribute to the Data Entry and Authorization Department team through positive attitude, respectful interaction, innovative ideas, efficiency, and ethical behavior. • Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
• The ability to work independently. • The ability to work collaboratively on projects. • The ability to create channels of communication to obtain information necessary to perform job tasks. • The ability to recognize individual and system problems and to communicate such information to supervisor. • Excellent verbal and written communication. • Outstanding attention to detail and excellent time management skills. • Outstanding computer skills with billing software, Microsoft Excel, and key-boarding skills. • Able physically to lift the weight of filled archive box, bend over file cabinets, and to sit at a computer 3-4 hours at a stretch.
Technical training from an accredited program in medical office procedures which include billing and coding with at least two years of related work experience or any combination of training and experience which provide the knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position.
