We are seeking a System Director of Clinical Risk Management in Wausau, Wisconsin who will provide leadership and oversight for the Aspirus System in the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of patient safety and clinical risk management to ensure the programs fulfill Aspirus’ goals and mission. This will include:
Responding to medical/legal inquiries regarding emergent patient care issues and loss control;
Risk identification program development
Promoting patient safety and enhancing quality care
Serving as the primary resource for event reporting system utilization
Providing oversight and guidance to event analysis and the development of clinical risk reduction strategies
Supporting the compilation and analysis of clinical risk management and patient safety data.
Supervising the day-to-day functions and operations of Managers of Risk and Patient Safety.
Bachelors’ Degree in Healthcare Administration, Nursing or other pertinent and related field is required; a relevant Masters’ Degree is desirable.
Training in patient safety, High Reliability, and performance improvement methodology required.
CPHRM or ARM certification is desirable and is required within two years of hire.
CPPS certification is desirable.
Minimum of five (5) years’ of progressively responsible management/leadership experience in a health care setting, preferably and integrated healthcare system.
Proficiency in leading teams within a complex, matrix environment.
Demonstrated skill in performing functions requiring analysis and problem solving.
Demonstrated skills in gathering, analyzing, and synthesizing complex data for application in planning and assessment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills to lead teams, prepare, and deliver professional presentations.
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with other staff and other departments.
Ability to handle confidential and difficult matters with tact and diplomacy.
Strong background in performance improvement, clinical risk management, patient safety.
Knowledge of Joint Commission, CMS, and State of Wisconsin and Michigan standards, regulations, and reporting requirements.
