Oversees and directs departmental activities to ensure quality services for both internal and external customers. Serves as a resource to and collaborates with others to advance the hospital mission.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assesses, develops, implements and evaluates department goals in correlation with the hospital goals on an annual basis.
Communicates department's needs, requirements, available services and information to internal and external customers.
Coordinates the departmental performance improvement process including the preparation, analysis, and submission of required reports.
Develops, reviews and revises departmental policies and procedures and assures the department's compliance with all state and federal regulations.
Ensures the department complies with all standards for quality and patient safety as required by enforcement agencies.
Works closely with Medical Staff to ensure that they receive & review department Quality measures for process improvement & re-credentialing processes.
Maintains a department staffing plan that meets organizational needs.
Oversees the day to day operations of respective department to provide consistent quality service to internal and external customers.
Performs all fiscal responsibilities according to hospital policies and procedures.
Reviews personnel records and pay information including payroll transactions to ascertain consistency with established pay polices, resolves discrepancies.
Supervises department staff, under his/her supervision, including hiring, firing, orientation, training and evaluation within established guidelines including maintaining the accuracy and confidentiality of an employee's pay and personnel information.
Bachelor degree in clinical field preferred.
Current clinical licensure within the state of Florida preferred.
Certification or training in quality preferred.
Ability to establish and maintain a positive working relationship and rapport with medical staff, department heads, staff and colleagues.
Ability to prioritize work independently and evaluate workload in order to meet deadlines.
Ability to translate data into meaningful information to be used for decision-making.

Computer literacy in Microsoft Office Suite to include Word, Outlook, Excel, SharePoint, and PowerPoint. Access and Visio preferred.
Bachelor Degree required.
Minimum 3 years of experience in a management/supervisory position required.
Minimum 3 years of experience in performance Improvement required.
Minimum 2 years Quality/Performance Improvement leadership experience required.
