The Vice President of SCL Health Research is responsible for the executive oversight, management, planning and direction of all the clinical research operational areas, to include, but not limited to, clinical research operations, data management, regulatory affairs, compliance, monitoring and auditing, and education/training for clinical research professional staff. This also including budgeting, billing, collections, accounting and finances of the research budgets. This highly visible role includes responsibility and accountability for the success of the clinical trials operations and is responsible for overall administrative oversight, and continually improving the quality and efficiency of clinical research.
This position provides significant contribution to the operational success of all research. The Vice President of SCL Health Research will be responsible for providing oversight of clinical research initiatives underway, ensuring compliance with established federal, state and local institutional guidelines governing the conduct of clinical research; implementing processes and procedures to improve compliance and the programmatic integrity of clinical research; effectively communicating with the senior leadership, investigators, research staff and representatives of study sponsors to facilitate the activation and conduct of clinical trials in a highly collaborative and matrix environment.
The position reports to the Associate Chief Medical Officer of Research and will ensure expert management control, and will provide strategic oversight for clinical trials research operations, data management, regulatory compliance, quality assurance and safety, as well as the integration of research into clinical operations and scientific review. He/she will be responsible for assigned projects, with optimal efficiency, through effective performance, leadership and develop of his/her staff.
Bachelor’s Degree in health care related field.
Master’s Degree in Nursing, Business Administration, Health Care Administration or other Health Care related field, preferred.
Professional certification in clinical research; such as SOCRA, ACRP, preferred.
Minimum of five years of progressive leadership pertaining to research knowledge in clinical research administration and compliance.
Extensive experience in managing large clinical trials and/or research operation.
Prior experience as a supervisor, providing multiple functional area oversight and timely execution of deliverables, with demonstrated organizational, project planning and time management skills.
