The System Director of Patient Safety has the responsibility, accountability and strategic direction for the patient safety program of a large hospital system. Provides the leadership in developing a culture of safety and in identifying opportunities and initiatives to enhance patient safety. Is responsible for implementation and strategic direction of an internal patient safety organization.
This individual participates in formulating policy and organizational changes.
Baccalaureate degree in a health care related field. RN with Master’s Degree or JD preferred.
Three (3) years of relevant clinical experience leading and directing risk management or patient safety activities in an acute care healthcare environment.
Five (5) years of patient safety experience in a health care setting.
At least two (2) years of managerial experience.
Knowledge and experience in Lean principles, Team STEPPS and Just Culture.
