Ensues the UM plan meets requirements of regulatory and licensing groups. Performs the overall function of providing an ongoing, systematic process for the measurement and assessment of the necessity, appropriateness, and efficiency of the use of its Healthcare services, procedures, and facilities. Assists in the promotion and maintenance of high quality patient care through the analysis, review, and evaluation of clinical practices within the Behavioral Health Center. Reviews cases for appropriateness of admission, continued stay, and discharge planning. Recommends plans of corrective action and monitoring the impact of the action taken. Supervises and coordinates the UM Coordinators and their job functions for optimal customer satisfaction, resource utilization, and optimize reimbursement for facility. Maintains communication system based on documentation and verbal exchange regarding treatment. Communicates with internal and external entities to facilitate acquisition of resources.
