The Kaiser Permanente Mid-Atlantic States Internal Medicine Residency Program seeks BC Internal Medicine physician to help train the next generation of Internists as an outpatient Core Faculty. The KPMAS IM Medicine Residency will be a 6-6-6 program with energetic faculty dedicated to training accomplished, patient-centered internists known for excellence in quality. The residency will be located in a faculty led, high-functioning KP Gaithersburg Medical Center built in 2012 in beautiful suburban Washington DC. The curriculum will emphasize highly integrated evidence-based medicine, team-based approaches to care, and population health. The main teaching hospital will be Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring, MD.

Highlights of the position include: 6 IM categorical residents per year, 60% clinical 40% resident teaching and related activities at Gaithersburg Medical Center. There is no calls nor weekend work. Ample opportunities to do research, scholarly work and mentoring. The successful candidate must have prior experience in teaching (GME or UME), a love of teaching, and a background of practical experience or faculty development. Prior academic teaching, scholarly work (including presentations at ACP, etc.), quality improvement experience, or curriculum development are preferred but not required. Our mission is to: (1) provide the highest quality health care through evidence-based medicine; (2) assure that care is patient-centered through excellent access and high patient satisfaction; and (3) train physicians with the knowledge, skills and attitudes required to transform healthcare in the region. Our graduate medical education program will play an important role in the achievement of these goals.
