Our SrPatient Safety Consultant will be an expert in current trends and innovation in risk management and will share that knowledge with clients and our internal teams through risk management projects, advice, and education.
As a SrPatient Safety Consultant, you will be responsible for building personal relationships with clients through risk management service with the goal of retaining business. This position provides expert consultation to reduce malpractice claims and improve patient safety, advises on action plans for improvement, and develops and delivers education programs on risk management trends. This position will work remotely in IA, MO, or MN and travel to build relationships with clients located in multiple states in the Midwest.

You will be responsible for:
Serving as primary service contact and risk and patient safety consultant for a list of assigned customers in the Midwest
Visiting high-value clients to conduct assessments, identify areas for improvement, and/or provide staff education
Collaborating with the risk and patient safety team to create tools, resources, and education programs that provide value to customers
Delivering tools, resources, and education programs to customers
Looking for opportunities to deliver risk management education to clients and at state, regional, or national conferences
Collaborating with claim team on customer issues, situations appropriate for apology and early resolution, and working with customers on strategies for prevention
Supporting the client acquisition team as needed, including helping connect with clients at trade shows or attending meetings with important prospects
You will have:
Bachelor’s degree – healthcare field, administration, or law with emphasis in healthcare
Master’s degree or higher preferred (e.g. JD, MSN, MHA)
5 years’ experience working with risk management or proactive claim prevention
Experience assessing risk in health care and pushing forward patient safety initiatives and education
Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication style
Demonstrated ability to research, develop, and create innovative and professional content
Public speaking experience
Customer service orientation
