The Cardiac Outcomes Analyst provides leadership and expertise for cardiac performance measurement and improvement activities, and assists in the integration of these activities with Piedmont Medical Centerâ��s Organization-Wide Performance Improvement Plan. The Cardiac Outcomes Analyst promotes organizational compliance to these standards. Utilizes clinical knowledge and judgment skills to abstract clinical information on established cardiac quality measures for tracking, trending and reporting. Selected quality indicators will be abstracted from the medical records concurrently; other indicators/measures and/or audits will be performed retrospectively. Incidental focused audits, other quality and/or compliance chart reviews will be conducted as assigned. Collaborates with healthcare professionals to maximize compliance with quality indicators, especially during concurrent reviews. Works closely with Quality Management staff, Cardiologists, CV Surgeons, and Directors in data management and reporting to impact compliance with evidence-based clinical guidelines. Associated tasks of data collection, computer entry and report preparation/presentation are performed
Bachelorâ��s Degree in Nursing, or another healthcare related field preferred
At least 2 years of experience in acute care required. 2 years of utilization review, quality assurance, case management or experience in a leadership role is preferred.
Familiarity with established national clinical guidelines and registries
Intermediate/advanced level computer skills
Sufficient healthcare nursing experience: 3-5 years nursing; active practice within the past 5 years
Ability to effectively communicate and interact with healthcare professionals
Ability to accurately collect and record clinical information from the medical record efficiently; to organize data in computer program for report generation
Knowledge of Cardiac procedures and processes
Knowledge of CQI/Performance Improvement principles
Knowledge of analytical and statistical techniques
Ability to adapt to changing priorities, task assignments and/or reporting deadlines
Ability to stay focused with task at hand while distractions are present; attentive to details
Ability to work independently without supervision
Required Certifications/Registrations/Licenses: A valid Permanent Multi-State RN License from the state in which you reside is required. Should you hold a RN license from another Compact state, you are required to apply for and obtain a Multi-State RN License from the state in which you reside within 30 days.
