Valley Health Partners Community Health Center (VHPCHC) is a newly forming, nonprofit, multispecialty Federally Qualified Health Center affiliated with Lehigh Valley Health Network in Allentown, PA. VHPCHC is seeking a Chief Medical Officer (CMO) who will be responsible for directing and operating the medical departments and advising the CEO on all clinical management aspects of the health care delivery system.
The CMO is a member of the FQHC senior leadership team responsible for providing the clinical and cultural leadership necessary to deliver high quality care across the continuum of services with the aim to improve the health status of the populations served.
The CMO monitors clinical performance to ensure medical services and operations are in compliance with all applicable regulatory and licensing agencies.
The CMO is responsible for implementing, reviewing and developing clinical protocols, performance objectives, productivity benchmarks, compliance measures, provider workflow planning and continuous clinical quality improvement.
The CMO will facilitate the flow of information between the professional staff, CEO and Board.
The responsibilities of the CMO will be split between 50% administrative time and 50% clinical time.
The ideal candidate will have at least five years of increasingly responsible leadership experience and a demonstrated track record of providing strategic clinical leadership. The CMO will be a board certified MD or DO in family practice, pediatrics, ob/gyn or internal medicine and a graduate of an accredited medical school having completed an accredited residency program. A Master's degree in healthcare administration, public health or a related field is preferred, but not required. Authoritative knowledge of the principles of practice and techniques in medical practice and in community health centers is highly desirable. He/she must have an interest in the design and evaluation of an efficient health care system in the community health setting. The successful candidate must to be a highly engaged leader with the qualities and skills to inspire and motivate others.
