Supervising Psychiatric Social Worker I – Integrated Substance Use Disorder Treatment Program

Do you have a keen professional interest in addiction medicine and substance use treatment? California Correctional Health Care Services (CCHCS) is seeking California-licensed psychiatric social worker leaders to join our Integrated Substance Use Disorder Treatment Program. This newly-created statewide program is designed to provide integrated, specialized care to patients with a history of substance use who require additional medical assistance. ISUDT staff are committed to providing optimal care, promoting patients’ successful reintegration into society, and reducing recidivism.
This distinctive opportunity is currently based in CCHCS’ Rancho Cucamonga, CA telehealth office, but will eventually be relocated to our Ontario, CA telehealth office. Telework options are supported based on operational availability.
Within this program and under the general direction of the Chief Nurse Executive, you will:
Review new and proposed laws, rules, policies and procedures; and assist in the development, revision, and implementation of policies and procedures for a variety of programs within the Whole Person Care Program, including the Integrated Substance Use Disorder Treatment program and the Hepatitis C Treatment program
Direct, supervise, and train clinical social worker staff
Evaluate the utilization of resources for release planning and continuity of care
Participate in quality improvement activities, including root cause analysis, rapid cycle process improvement, and other activities as assigned
Travel to institutions, regional offices, and other designated sites as necessary
To thrive in this position, you must have:
Four years of experience in psychiatric social work, including a minimum one year of experience as a social work supervisor and at least two years of experience in a child guidance or psychiatric clinic, psychiatric extramural program, psychiatric hospital, psychiatric department of a hospital, or hospital for the physically disabled
Completion of a two-year graduate curriculum in social work in a recognized school of social work
