We are looking for Physician Reviewers to add to our team! Avar Consulting, Inc., is a Beneficiary and Family Centered Care Quality Improvement Organization (BFCC-QIO) and operates the Beneficiary and Family Centered Care National Coordinating Oversight and Review Center (BFCC NCORC), which supports the BFCC QIO Program in the CMS 12 Scope of Work (SOW).
BFCC-QIO Physician reviewers contribute to improving the quality of care and utilization of healthcare services for Medicare Beneficiaries. Specifically, through the review of preventable patient safety events, physician reviewers will determine whether an adverse event occurred, and whether that event could have reasonably been prevented based on professional standards of care.
Physician reviewers are eligible for flexible hours and remote working environment, however, you must be comfortable with an interdisciplinary team approach. Greatest need in the following Specialties: Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, General Surgery, Pulmonology and Cardiology.
Hold an active, unrestricted license or certification to practice medicine in a state or territory of the United States, and not on the LEIE list
Must be Board Certified in a specialty recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties or the Advisory Board of Osteopathic Specialists.
Must be located within the U.S. or one of its territories when conducting a review.
Knowledgeable in evaluation of hospital and post-acute care
Experienced in acute & post-acute chart review, specifically in the areas of patient safety & quality of care. QIO Peer review experience a plus.
Telecommuting is allowed.
