The DCQI is a key member of the hospital management team. The DCQI provides effective leadership to the department and hospital for the following functions: Performance Improvement, Risk Management, Case Management and Infection Control. The DCQI is the Risk Manager and Patient Safety Officer.
A Baccalaureate Degree is required.
Minimum of three years management/supervisory experience in related field.
Demonstrates excellent written and oral communication skills
Must have working knowledge of standards, Medicare/Medi-Cal regulations and Title 22 requirements, TJC standards and interpretation of such
Must be computer literate and able to fully utilize word processing and spreadsheet programs
Able to maintain professional composure under stressful conditions
Maintains positive role model behavior towards all level of personnel
Minimum of five years actual hospital based work experience with direct patient contact and be clinically competent as determined by evaluation
Maintain current, valid California RN license and/or equivalent ancillary certification from an accredited school.
Management experience in performance improvement, utilization management and discharge planning, infection control and risk management.
Membership in appropriate professional organization (Certified Professional Health Care Quality) or ASHRAM
Masters Degree preferred
