Job Summary The Director of Clinical Quality is responsible for directing a comprehensive clinical quality program encompassing the continuum of health care at Children’s Health of Orange County (CHOC). Measures and advances clinical quality performance of the medical staff and all associates of CHOC Children's Hospital. Oversees Surgical Quality Program. Provides leadership and coordination of the CHOC Care Guideline Program. Facilitates quality outcomes and processes for organizational transparency initiatives. Aligns CHOC Health with frameworks, best practices and insights of national and international quality organizations. Provides key insight and innovation into the evolution of the CHOC quality program of the future. Experience • Required: Minimum five (5) years of hospital-based experience in Quality Management and designing/implementing Performance Improvement initiatives in clinical and non-clinical areas. Three years of experience in acute care setting. • Preferred: 5+ years of acute care experience. 3+ years Pediatric Hospital experience Education • Required: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. • Preferred: MHA/ MBA or related advanced degree. Specialized Skills • Required: Knowledge of quality and process improvement principles and tools, statistics, data collection, analysis, and data presentation. Knowledge of care pathways, clinical guidelines. Ability to build and establish positive relationships with Physicians and healthcare staff. Ability to set performance goals and analyze results. Computer literacy and ability to learn new software programs and databases. Licensure • Required: Registered Nurse – CA (RN); Cert Prof Healthcare Quality (CPHQ).
