Penn State Health Hampden Medical Center will bring acute inpatient medical services to communities in Cumberland, Perry, and York counties.  The facility, set to open in Fall 2021, will feature 108 private inpatient beds and an attached outpatient medical office building.  This is a unique opportunity to be part of opening a new hospital with a highly collaborative and team-oriented culture. 

JOB SUMMARY:

The Assistant Nurse Manager is responsible for partnering with the Nursing Director to assure department operations are carried out in the Operating Room and PACU. They will also work with the Nursing Director in organizing and evaluating the quality of patient care, coordination personnel and utilizing resources effectively in the delivery of patient care. Additional responsibilities include management and development of the unit, including, but not limited to interviewing, hiring, and supervision of staff, assisting with developing and monitoring of budget, policies and procedures, both new employee orientation and ongoing education of staff, and management of quality improvement programs.  The Assistant Nurse Manager will also assist in staffing the unit as needed. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Associates Degree required.
• 4 years of clinical nursing experience required.
• Progressive leadership experience required.
• Currently licensed to practice as a registered nurse by Pennsylvania Board of Nurse Examiners required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Nursing leadership experience in surgical services.
