The Local Recovery Coordinator is responsible for the recovery-oriented training James E. Van Zandt VAMC. The incumbent is responsible for coordinating facility recovery education plan for providers, Veterans and their families. Duties include but not limited to... Serves as a consultant to peer specialists Complete thorough psychosocial assessments and includes pertinent information in all the required areas of functioning in order to determine appropriate diagnoses and other treatment-related conclusions. Utilize various treatment modalities of individual and group work, casework, community organization, and community outreach activities to alleviate or remove problems that interfere with the Veteran participants' ability to achieve independence. Provides psychotherapy as individual, group &/or family interventions when clinically indicated/appropriate and when of therapeutic benefit to the recipients. Coordinate care including serving as an advocate on behalf of the Veterans to ensure comprehensive service delivery and linking and referring Veterans to the VA Medical Center, VA Regional Offices and/or community agencies. Serves as the subject matter expert on VA and community resources, collaborating with other services providers. Provide crisis intervention services, seeking to address causation as well as presenting complaints. Provide consultation and education to Veterans and their families related to VA, community resources, VA benefits and specialty programs, and advance directives. Participate in program planning and development, advising the supervisor of shifting trends with caseloads and identifying the need for and making recommendations on program procedure or policy changes based upon work experiences. Support the administrative/clinical functions of the program by participating in quality assurance, policy and procedure development, program planning, preparation of reports and other duties as assigned. Utilizes and assists in maintaining a data monitoring system to measure the efficacy of the program; assists in collecting local data for reports to local management, the VISN and national programs. Participate in the training of psychologist and students; participates as required and requested in employee orientation, training and staff development programs involving Psychologists within the facility. Performs other related duties as assigned. Work Schedule: May be responsible for a tour of duty that includes early morning, evenings, and/or weekends and participating in the On-Call rotation schedule to accommodate Veteran care needs during weekends, holidays, evenings, and nights.
