This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. In cases of graduates of foreign schools of professional nursing, possession of current, full, active and unrestricted registration will meet the requirement of graduation from an approved school of professional nursing. OR The completion of coursework equivalent to a nursing degree in a MSN Bridge Program that qualifies for professional nursing registration constitutes the completion of an approved course of study of professional nursing. Students should submit the certificate of professional nursing to sit for the NCLEX to the VA along with a copy of the MSN transcript. Preferred Experience: Mental Health Experience Grade Determinations: The following criteria must be met in determining the grade assignment of candidates, and if appropriate, the level within a grade: Nurse I Level I - An Associate Degree (ADN) or Diploma in Nursing, with no additional nursing practice/experience required. Nurse I Level II - An ADN or Diploma in Nursing and approximately 1 year of nursing practice/experience; OR an ADN or Diploma in Nursing and a bachelor's degree in a related field with no additional nursing practice/experience; OR a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) with no additional nursing practice/experience. Nurse I Level III - An ADN or Diploma in Nursing and approximately 2-3 years of nursing practice/experience; OR an ADN or Diploma in Nursing and a Bachelor's degree in a related field and approximately 1-2 years of nursing practice/experience; OR a BSN with approximately 1-2 years of nursing practice/experience; OR a Master's degree in nursing (MSN) or related field with a BSN and no additional nursing practice/experience. Physical Requirements: Position requires heavy lifting (45 pounds and over), heavy carrying (45 pounds and over), straight pulling (4 hours), pushing (4 hours), use of fingers and both hands, walking and standing 8-12 hours, repeated bending 8 hours, both legs required, ability for rapid mental and muscular coordination simultaneously, near vision correctable at 13" to 16" to Jaeger 1 to 4, far vision correctable in one eye to 20/20 and to 20/40 in other eye, depth perception, ability to distinguish shades of colors, hear (aide permitted). Transferring patients and objects required. The incumbent may be exposed to infected patients and contaminated materials and will be required to don protective clothing in isolation situations or operative/invasive procedures. The incumbent is responsible for planning, designing, integrating, implementing, modifying, and administering the enterprise risk management and quality management BHIP program with the focus on evaluating and continuously improving services provided for BHIP veteran population. Duties included but not limited to:\n1. Provides program quality improvement efforts with operational practices, advanced assessment, judgment, collaborative efforts of disciplines, navigation of new referrals, decision-making and diagnostic reasoning skills, advanced clinical competencies, provider education, health literacy, community engagement, access failures/social fragility, social support and treatment planning\n2. Responsible for collaborative efforts with suicide prevention team to provide outpatient resources and education for VISN and organization suicide prevention innovations\n3. Improves organization system processes with high- utilization of outpatient mental health services\n4. Improves care delivery practices and system processes between leadership and BHIP disciplines\n5. Provides outpatient communication, resources, networking and education to improve care delivery between emergency room, inpatient and outpatient clinics\n6. Assists with performance measures of monitoring, evaluation and action plans for program improvement/enhancement as well as accreditation reviews and pertinent site visits with emphasis of CARF and JACHO regulations\n7. Coordinates and monitors clinical training/development of BHIP staff\n8. Provides clinical expertise with conflict resolution and daily BHIP clinic operations\n9. Coordinates system approaches and strategic planning with daily BHIP team huddles and operations\n10. Provides oversight of administrative and programmatic resources for BHIP, delivering specialized, complex, and highly professional mental health services that are integrated within the primary care setting\n11. Provides administrative support to BHIP Nurses and clinic disciplines\n13. Responsible for assisting Chief of Mental Health Service and Chief Nurse of Mental Health with planning, organizing, and coordinating BHIP program objectives, mission and vision\n14. Provides support and assisting with BHIP documentation regulations\n15. Responsible for aligning work of BHIP veteran population with National Strategic Goals/objectives, best practice, clinical practice guidelines, standards of care, and policy guidance, clinical tools for discipline support, research agenda for clinical inquiries.\n16. Direct and support health care system staff to carry out the functions and activities required of the position\n17. Contributes ideas and recommendations for the establishment of standards of care, policies, and objectives as related to BHIP, as well as across the health care system\n18.
