Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital
Transport patients between facilities in an efficient manner insuring the safety and security of patients and family. Properly maintain all equipment and stock supplies to maintain readiness.
- Administers prompt and efficient basic life support care within the limits of licensure or certification.
- Conducts regular unit inventory and equipment testing to ensure all equipment is present, clean, and in proper working order.
- Performs and documents safe, efficient and accurate transport dispatch information.
- Assists with patient care and transfers to VCH in designated patient care areas within scope of practice.
- Operates Vanderbilt Licensed ambulances while responding to emergent and non-emergent transports.
- The responsibilities listed are a general overview of the position and additional duties may be assigned.
- Maintains equipment per regulatory and compliance standards.
- Manages daily maintenance operations of ambulance fleet.
The Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital Emergency Department is a busy and growing 15 bed ED with a 4 bed Fast Track. The ED utilizes the Epic EMR for documentation of visits. Shifts are 12 hours with every other weekend required as well as holiday rotation.

The two-campus facility is the sole provider of inpatient and outpatient medical services in Wilson County. Known for comprehensive services, recognized care, and a commitment to the community, VWCH became a part of the Vanderbilt University Medical Center family (VUMC) in August of 2019.
