RN Nursing Professional Development Specialist – Clinical Educator - Penn State Health Hampden Medical Center

Penn State Health Hampden Medical Center brings acute inpatient medical services to communities in Cumberland, Perry, and York counties. The facility, features 108 private inpatient beds and an attached outpatient medical office building.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The RN Nursing Professional Development Specialist supports the quality of care provided to patients by the Department of Nursing staff through optimal orientation programs, ongoing evaluation of competence, and support of lifelong learning. The Nursing Professional Development Specialist promotes relevant professional development opportunities and mentorship for members of the department of nursing at all levels to assist with the achievement of personal and professional goals. The Nursing Professional Development Specialist will identify outcomes of educational interventions based on input from learners and stakeholders, evidence, regulations, and organizational goals. Additionally, this role will assist with core responsibilities of the education department including house-wide initiatives and nursing orientation.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):

Masters of Science in Nursing or intent to complete Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) within three (3) years of hire

Three (3) years of relevant RN nursing experience

Licensed to practice as a RN Registered Nurse by the state of employment required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):

Nursing Professional Development Certification or specialty certification

Emergency and/or ICU RN Registered Nurse experience strongly preferred.
