Schedule:Sunday-Friday, typically the schedule is 6am-5pm Hours can vary for a start time as early as 5am and an end time as late as 8pm

The role you’ll contribute:
The Surgical Skills Lab Supervisor – NC (Nicholson Center)assists the NC Clinical Operations Manager with cadaveric tissue processing, helps manage staff scheduling and assures related processing requirements are met. The Supervisor assists in execution and management of the willed-body program and mobile NC. The Supervisor functions as the internal subject matter expert and consults for clients as a member of the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC). The Supervisor focuses on clinical operation details, resolves problems, communicates effectively, and remains flexible regarding change and performance improvement initiatives. The Supervisor provides “world class” customer service and support to physicians, customers, guests and all stakeholders.The Supervisor actively participates in process improvement, operational management, and outstanding customer service, and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
·Supports the Clinical and Operations Manager in the procurement, preparation and disposition (to include transport and cremation) of all anatomical specimens for use in educational and research programs of the NC.Periodic tissue procurement trips may require extended travel.
·Maintains specimen records in a secure environment with secondary computerized database and weekly back up.Supports the Clinical Operations Manager to establish and maintain a tissue quality assurance and standardized inventory management program.
·Assists the Clinical Operations Manager to ensure all state and federal anatomical lab requirements are met and maintains current operational certifications (i.e.: OSHA, state, federal and/or any other national organizations governing tissue). Supports in managing animate tissue in accordance with Nicholson Center IACUC guidelines and all USDA regulations.
·Assures use of PPE by employees and lab participants while working with anatomical specimens. Follows the OSHA and AdventHealth infection control policies and procedures for handling biohazardous/non-biohazardous materials, sharps and waste segregation. Assists with setup, cleaning and breakdown of all equipment before and after each educational program.
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
·Three years of experience in an operating room, clinical or skills lab, tissue processing or related environment
·Training in anatomy and physiology, anatomical and surgical processes, and operating room equipment and processes
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
·Valid Florida Class “E” driver’s license and driving record in accordance with AdventHealth policy
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
·Ethical knowledge of human anatomical tissue handling
·Comfortable and competent in surgical and research environments with advanced operating room and/or wet lab skills
·Ability to provide extraordinary customer service and be attentive to customer and team needs
·Microsoft Office Professional and computer proficiency skills
·Ability to work in a high-stress environment
·Self-motivation and excellent problem-solving skills
·Organizational skills with attention to detail
·Ability to research, develop and implement operational plans
·Ability to safely drive van to transport equipment and tissue
·Communication skills with ability to work well with a multidisciplinary professional team
