Nurse of the Day
The Nurse of the Day (NOD) is responsible for coordinating and directing the care provided to meet health-derived or health-related self-care deficits of the patient, specifically adult/geriatric. Recognition and consideration are given to the unique physical, emotional, and chronological maturation needs relative to the patient's age group. The NOD is accountable for ensuring that high quality nursing care is delivered in an efficient and effective manner. Basic Requirements: English Language Proficiency. In accordance with 38 U.S.C. 7403(f), no person shall serve in direct patient care positions unless they are proficient in basic written and spoken English.
